Look at what I found in an old shoe box. Literally, this was in a shoe box in the closet. And if you can't tell, it's my dad. It's kind of funny to see him looking so young. He's always been young at heart but he's younger than I am now in this photo. Which means this photograph is quite old. Some photos just don't go out of style.
My folks have been in town visiting for the last two weeks, here to celebrate Austin's big 3-0 and so I thought I'd update the ole blog with an oldie but goodie... Stay young at heart, boys and girls!

Is there anyone else out there who finds gardening therapeutic? I've never been the gardening type. And I won't say that our garden is anything magical or special. But I planted some white ranunculus bulbs a few weeks ago because they are my favorites. I was half convinced that they were dead and gone when I went out to check on them yesterday. But what do you know, barely above the soil's surface, they've sprouted little green leaves.
So far, we have a tomato plant and a lemon tree that Austin's mom gave us. We also have some lilac mums, white callas, white roses, and fragrant lavender.
The other day, I saw this wooden sign and felt it calling out to me. I love it!

My mom used to make dresses for my Barbies when I was a little girl. So following tradition, I decided to make a Barbie-sized replica of my wedding dress for little Punky (my niece). After two days of measuring, pattern-making, and sewing, it turns out that I actually learned something in fashion school. Turns out the hardest part here was getting Barbie to stand upright for the photos.

Stewart Uy:
THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you should sell the design to Mattel.. I especially like the little touch on how you had Barbie hold her flowers =P
